Chip” Williams Jr. arrested on sex offense charges

Sunday, November 30th, 2008

Richard Norman Williams Jr. was arrested in the parking lot of a Guilford County church, he had arranged to meet what he thought was a 14-year-old girl. Williams Jr.’s firm handles media and public relations for Nascar drivers Kyle Petty, Bobby Labonte, Derrike Cope and John Andretti, among others.

The investigators targeted Norman Williams after receiving information about a sexual relationship between Williams and a now-15-year-old girl from Guilford County. Williams is charged with first-degree sex offense and he was being held at the Guilford County Jail on a bond of $1 million. “I think there’s a lot more involvement than from those things we got from the Internet,” Barnes said. “Basically, we feel he has probably been involved with more than one person.”

The Importance of Exchange Rates

Saturday, November 29th, 2008

Currency exchange is one of the most prominent industries in today’s ever-connected planet. With each nation trading, foreign currency now has a worth on the global market-place and there are even a fair few people who make currency trading their career to buy foreign currency.

Ever heard of foreign currency trading? Not unlike stocks buying and selling, it is the purchasing and selling of currency positions and people will make returns because various currencies have particular positions on the world-wide market. Quite obviously, if you are in the position where you are utilising American dollars, then you could possibly not experience the difference, nevertheless, this enterprise works best if you engage in exchanging, say, Cambodia Riels with Laos Kips.

Currency exchange moreover has a great deal to do with trade of goods. Corporations which export their goods and services over-seas, are paid foreign currency, which, understandably, they may not be able to use back home, consequently they eventually get the currency changed. This aside, the prices on the world market-place are always prescribed by currency trading, and so individuals and companies might well sustain a revenue loss should their country’s currency currently has a weak position compared to the stronger currencies, for example the US dollar and Euro.

Foreign currency exchange is becoming important when planning for travel and holidays. Quite obviously, if you jaunt to Europe, then maybe you very much need to get a bit of currency exchanged to Euros so you might buy more items. Sure, the American dollar is exchangeable almost everywhere in the world, but there are always a significant number of nations where individuals very much need the exact amount in payment for good and services. Buying goods and services with US dollars when you are abroad might well just cause a headache for other individuals for the simple reason that they also, will very much need to get it converted. This is establishing itself as the main reason why most international transit hubs already have foreign currency exchange booths and as a result you won’t find it a requirement to run around the country scanning for shops or entrepreneurs who buy foreign currency. It doesn’t need stating that there are also online web-sites, that purchase foreign currency, therefore, consequently you have the chance to get your money exchanged on the Internet and withdraw the cash in local currency whenever and wherever you are located on the globe. Foreign currency exchange opportunities may be passing you by right now - talk to Foreign Currency Direct.

A Beginners Guide to Casino Taking a Risk: the Games Gambling Fans Contend in

Friday, November 28th, 2008

For clarification, a betting room is a structure that offers card-playing. At such a place, guests will hopefully test their luck by having a bash at the coin operated machines or trying out plenty of other pastimes. Gambling house games ordinarily include 100% determined odds informing them which ensure the gaming house holds on to the upper hand above the customers. online casino

Many betting hall games can result in you becoming addicted very rapidly. E.g. there’s the infamous slot machine, a coin operated gadget with 3 plus gears that whirl if a knob latched onto it is yanked. The gadget regularly pays out correlating with a distribution of designs displayed on the information screen of the machine. Regretfully, gambling saloon pastimes put forward a fantasy of staying in control, tricking the gambling fan — the punter is provided with choice, but in actual fact they will not eliminate the patron’s fundamental negative odds. That is due to the gaming establishment not paying up the entire wager as hoped for. This arrangement is notoriously seen at work in well-known casino games such as poker, craps, roulette or blackjack.

Seven card stud is indeed a highly popular casino game. The visitors, playing with fully screened cards, will wager in a central pot which is finally given to the winning gamer controlling the leading combination of cards. (And as eveyone knows, the best bluffing hand may actually win as well…) Not far removed from seven-card stud, blackjack too is an immensely popular casino pastime. A lavish amount of its notoriety is based on its particular mix of chance and savvy & choice making, as well as a procedure termed card counting. This is an approach through which betting devotees will significantly skew the odds of the card game to lend them an advantage by both wagering & systematic opetations in correspondence with the cards shown.

Craps is the name of a well-known casino wagering game utilizing the throw of 2 dice. Gamers make bets on the score of one spin, or on a succession of spins on two dice. Contrary to blackjack, there just isn’t any reliable killer system you could profit from to bend the odds.

Roulette is another well-known casino based gambling pastime — a croupier twirls a roulette wheel that has thirtyseven (French roulette) or thirty eight (American or Vegas roulette) distinctively marked places in which the white ball must settle, thereby revealing the winning number and its attached combinations. When a gamer happens to bet money on a single number and makes it big i.e. it’s their lucky day, the promised repayment will be thirty-five to one, the original pledge is paid back. Accordingly in total it’s increased by 36.

Attempt to be very vigilant as well as all of these gaming room games of luck may well be certainly dependency forming. Myriad lives are reported to have been damaged in the course of inordinate gambling and even if it might be fun, work to moderate your gambling.

How to Reduce the Chances of 3 Putts on a Hole

Friday, November 28th, 2008

Practice these steps in order to reduce the chances of 3 putts on a hole and missing very short putts less than two feet in length:

- If you are missing the hole to the right or left, opening or closing the face of the putter head at impact, you need to get the putter swinging straight back and forth on short putts.

Pick a flat spot on your practice green and line up some quarters or other coins on either side of the hole for about 12 inches, just like runway lights at an airport. The coins should be about of an inch wider than the width of your putter head, on either side.

Now, with your golf ball just outside this one-foot runway, your goal is to putt the ball through the line of quarters without touching any. When you can do this ten times in a row, you’re doing well.

This exercise is just to stroke the ball purely so that you do not hit any of the coins. You can also practice this at home on your carpet and putt into a glass, or a plastic (or aluminum) putting cup, available at any golf store.

The reason for the coins is to let your eyes see more of a tunnel or line to the hole. Do it enough times and your mind will start seeing this line when you’re really playing on the course.

- The next secret is very simple but effective. You won’t believe it until you try it for a couple of weeks.

You don’t need a golf ball for this one, just your putter. Practice miniature strokes.

Take the club-head back 3 inches and then, on the follow through, go only 3 inches past where the ball would be. Use a “straight back and straight through” motion, but do it as slowly and as smoothly as possible. It is even better if you can practice this against a wall, a 2 x 4 piece of wood, one of your clubs lying on the putting green or anything else that has a straight solid edge to it.

You must be sure that your stroke is touching the wall or whatever you’re using on the back-swing and follow-through. This will help straighten your putting stroke.

- When someone is not putting well, they are moving their head to the left or right during the stroke. It is okay to not move your head at all when your putt, just as it is okay for your eyes to follow the path of the ball after you hit it, as long as your head is stationary, not shifting to the left or right.

One way to check this is to have a friend hold a golf club against the left side of your head (right side for a left-handed player), while you are practicing putting. If you feel yourself pressing against the club on the follow-through, you need to keep your head more still. An even better way is to get someone to take a video of you putting from all angles with a camcorder. This will show you what is really happening.

The Ming Treasures

Thursday, November 27th, 2008

Mick Kupchak was reduced to tears today as Yao Ming signed a 5-year, 75 million dollar deal with the Houston Rockets. But this isn’t about Mitch Kupchak at all. Yao Ming is one of the top centers in basketball(mainly a reflection of the declining quality of centers in the NBA), and is now paid like one. Just by looking at a list of NBA salaries, Yao Ming’s annual average salary of 15 million would rank 4th next season, right behind Kevin Garnett. Is Yao Ming anywhere near as good as Kevin Garnett? The answer right now is no, but to be fair, they do play different positions.

Despite his lack of game-changing skill, the Rockets had to lock up Yao Ming to a large deal. If he had hit the open market, someone would have paid him more. Why pay this much money to someone who didn’t even average a double double last season? There are a variety of factors:

1. Zydrunas Ilgauskas got paid. When a borderline good center like Ilgauskas gets paid 11 million per year, it drives up the salaries for other centers. Thus you end up with the actual good centers like Yao Ming wanting much more than that.

2. Salaries in general went up this offseason. Teams such as the Bucks had plenty of cash and no good players to spend it on, so they did the next best thing. They gave money away to players like Michael Redd(I never thought a pure shooter who wasn’t too good at shooting last year could ever make 15 million per, but wrong I was). With Redd’s ridiculously inflated deal, players(and their agents) decided that they should make a whole lot more than their skills dictated too. Before you knew it Antoine Walker was making 9 million per for 6(!) years, and it was being called a reasonable deal.

3. Who else is there? If the Rockets let Yao Ming go, who would they put in the middle? The world’s only living fossil, Dikembe Mutumbo? The NBA lacks good centers. Yao Ming is among the top 4 or 5 centers in league, depending on whether you want to call Amare Stoudemire a center. Sure his 18-8-1 pales in comparison to Garnett’s 22-13.5-6, but at least he’s a center. Seriously all tall people(having skill at basketball is not a requirement) should call themselves centers and find an NBA version of Drew Rosenhaus to get them jobs. I can see it already.

4. He makes a ridiculous amount of money for the Rockets franchise. The Chinese market has opened up to the Rockets since they drafted Yao Ming. Their games have been televised and they have been selling merchandise, among other things. Since there are 1.2 billion people in China, there is a lot of potential money to be made. If the Rockets cut Yao Ming loose, all of this would vanish. This isn’t an on-court reason, but it’s just as important. Sports franchises are, after all, businesses.

So, essentially, despite the fact that he is not and may never be an inside force like Shaq or the Alonzo Mourning of old, Yao Ming is still a very good center, and above all, is important to the Rockets franchise. He will be a cornerstone of this team for years to come, and will be a perennial all-star in the West.

Martial Arts Training Machine for Home Kung Fu Practise

Are the Martial Arts still under development?

What is a martial art?

A martial art can be defined as any skill that can be applied in warfare. The word martial means “military.”

So traditionally, a martial art is a military art. The first things that usually come to mind when discussing modern martial arts are leaping, kicking, punching, blocking, inverting elbows, twisting necks, throwing, and weapon fighting. But also horsemanship, javelin throwing, archery, spear fighting, halberd fighting, wrestling, knife fighting, rifle, shotgun and pistol shooting, demolitions, logistics, and battle strategy can all be described as the field of martial arts. Anything that a soldier might do in battle is a martial art.

By martial art usually it is meant aikido, arnis, boxing, capoeria, chow gar, choy la fut, hapkido, hsing’i, hun gar, jeet kune do, jow gar, judo, jujitsu, karate, kempo, kick boxing, krav maga, kung fu, pa kua, penjak silat, praying mantis, savate, shaolin, tae kwon do, tai chi, white crane, wing chun, wu shu and more! As you can see the list is quite long and it is actually quite amazing how many martial arts systems there are and how many methods of self defense can be formulated.

Often within a martial arts school it is taught that ‘this particular system is the best system and it was created to beat all the others’. Of course every martial artist would have the viewpoint their style is the best because that is the style they have chosen to do, but in reality what they are saying is ‘this is the best style for me as it suits my temperment and I like the teaching environment’.

The changing of the arts

Throughout this history and development of the martial arts and all the combat systems of man our training tools have played a vital part in evolving and perfecting these systems and techniques.

All the martial arts have been effected by the role that mechanical devices play whether it be weapons, dojo mats, breaking boards or even the uniforms we wear - all these paraphanialia indentify the martial arts into their systems and style.

The main players in shaping our new martial arts would be the traditional wooden dummy, wing chun rings, iron palm ointments and even the system of using forms and karta have developed the martial arts into their current form.

Even today modern training tools are common and again the martial arts are under development with new training products such as the Wavemaster, the BOB training dummy, the Focus Master. All with one thing in common, to create a well rounded combat system.

Ideally a martial arts solo training tool should be workable for all and based on sound theory and through constant practice develop into sound physical application. The ideology and theory would have to take into account all the history of the combat technology of man and give this competition and street application.

The Martialarm Combat Training Partner

In a martial arts career you can occationally find your self with no school to go to or no one to train with and so out of neccessity the martialarm solo training partner was born. The Martialarm is a Martial Arts training machine used to develop the entry and trapping skills of any martial arts system. It is designed to actually test any techniques so to improve the ability to trap and control your opponents hands and arms. This can be done because the Martialarm moves and reacts like a real opponent. The Martialarm moves and twists up, down, left and right just like a real opponent would - so it can spring forward and it does strike back!.

The Martialarm Combat Training Partner was designed and developed on the following theories

Martialarm Theory

#1) Safety - You must maintain 100% safety when entering into the opponents attack range, this means to limit any variables that could occur by covering them. (Methods of entry must be sophisticated yet simple, fast as well as safe!)

#2) Attack - You must have the ability to attack at will, with no concern or hesitation. The attack should incorporate a total control of the opponents weapons. (Attacks must be structured to have within them a 100% defense!)

#3) Adaptability - Techniques, attacks and defenses must flow but not necessarily at a constant pace. Adaptability to choose what’s next is key!

Whatever martial arts you choose just be sure you do look at a few before you decide and enqire with the school what martial arts equipment they utilize to get the best from your training.

Martialarm Martial Arts System

Martialarm Martial Arts Kung Fu is a total control system incorporating scientific body weapons with unconditional workability in both attacks and defense. Formula Fighting allows a pre-emptive attack and defense - a much faster system of fighting than the conventional ‘reaction response’ defenses. Formula fighting correctly applied transcends current martial arts technology to evolve into a martial science so to set new standards.

# The system includes: # Smart error concepts and selective targeting # Pressure points and internal shock strikes # Multi-functional and military applications # Broken Rhythm or plyometric applications # Chi-Sau and automatic reflex systems # Stealth weapons and clasifications # One arm combat strategies # Fire and forget formulas # Inertia breaking # Delivery zones # and more

Martial Arts Modern Warfare

Chinese combat methods especially are renowned for the wide variety of their hand techniques. Most Kung-Fu styles use a wider range of hand/arm weapons (such as claws, gouges, palms, backhands, punches, backfists, hammerfists, forearm, elbows and shoulder strikes) than their Japanese, Okinawan and Korean counterparts.

In addition to the actual number of natural body weapons used there is also a tremendous range of different applications due to the regionalised development of Kung Fu styles and the different approaches taken by hard or internal/external styles.

In this analogy, the legs are used as the body’s heavy artillery, while the hands are the body’s infantry. In a military encounter, it is common to use first satelite technology to view the opponents attack and defense cababilities and then use long distance stealth artillery to soften up the enemy and to provide a moving cover behind which the infantry can advance to seize and hold disputed territory. Without the benefit of the artillery, the infantry would take heavy casualties.

However, artillery on its own cannot seize and hold territory - a major bombardment may drive the enemy out. So it is with arm and leg techniques - we often use our legs to soften up the opponent and to enable us to bridge the gap until we can close in and finish the fight with hand/arm techniques and the proper use and co-ordination of hand/arm and leg techniques is often crucial to success/ survival.

We espouse a combination approach which uses hand/leg attacks from different angles of attack and at various target levels. The concept is to keep a flow of offensive techniques moving into an opponent’s target zones from different angles and at different levels, in order to disorientate him/her completely. We believe that this approach is superior tactically to reliance upon one or two heavily committed techniques.

Martialarm Scientific Training For Speed

#1. Beginning of action

a. You must start in a positive delivery zone otherwise a negative zone can either injure your body parts or work against the intended action and become counter productive. (Newtons 1st law of motion)

b. Create an inertia breaker, a movement that will help you overcome the inertia (resistence to motion due to gravity and friction).

#2. Middle of action (Newtons 2nd Law)

a. After the inertia breaker you must continue the acceleration with a Booster. (Like a booster rocket, an extra aid, a second stager)

b. All body parts eg arms and legs, in any move be it a punch, block or kick, must always end up in a bent elbow or knee movement to enable a very quick change in any direction at any time.

#3. End of action

NOTE: ‘End’ of action should not be taken literally as one should never really stop action until the job is done. Our ‘end action’ should be programmed to an interuppted continuity as if this stage is still the middle stage.

Martialarm Martial Developement of Power

Most Chinese styles use a relaxed approach to power development. We try to keep unnecessary muscles from being involved in the technique, in order to avoid inhibiting the prime movers behind a certain technique from doing their job. Essentially, a straight punch is a triceps-driven technique and the Chinese style of punching allows the triceps to do its job without the inhibition of significant biceps involvement in this punch.

Most other techniques can be viewed in a similar fashion - you have muscles which are vital to the effective execution of a technique and muscles which are not, or which are even counter-productive when involved in that technique. No matter which martial arts style you do, try to avoid unnecessary muscle involvement.

Many Chinese styles use more “follow-through” in their techniques and achieve their power by driving the entire body weight through a target zone at speed. The arm is totally relaxed until contact is made and the body is still driving deeper into the target when focus is brought to the technique using a trigger.

The body has more inertia to overcome before it can move with the descending line of force and, as a result, the power is more completely absorbed by the bodyrather than being partially dissipated by the body moving more freely with the punch, as with a horizontal line of force.

Martialarm Martial Arts Weapons

The Martialarm System uses quite a large array of natural body weapons, some of them fairly specialised. The main ones are:

* Fist Strikes. (Sun Fist, Dragon Head, Phoenix Eye and Leopard Paw)

* Palm Strikes. (Tile Shattering, Yin/Yang, Willow Leaf and Hurricane Palm).

* Finger Strikes. (Flying Fingers, Immortal Pointing the Way, Twin Dragons, Tiger Claw, Eagle Claw, Dragon Claw, Rat Claw and Crab Claw).

* Back Fist Strike. (These tend to be followthrough rather than the ’snap’ versions).

* Bottom Fist Strike. (Iron Hammer equates to the Japanese tettsui technique).

* Forearm Strikes. (This is used for smashing, sweeping blows of great power).

* Elbow Strikes. (This is generally used in a very flexible manner using multiple strikes).

* Shoulder Strikes. (Used for close-in work, often to propel an opponent out into punching range).

As you can see, there is an emphasis on tightly targetted use of a specialised hand formation in many cases. It is not enough merely to lash out in the hopes of an effective strike. In a ring situation, the “when in doubt, lash out” tactic may gain you points, but in the street it will be ineffective, unless you are lucky enough to impact on a vital point. A precise, surgical strike or kick into one of your opponent’s vital or weak targets is needed and your combinations should be structured with this in mind.

Martialarm System Technological Achievements

1. Revolutionised Martial Arts thinking and design of “Formula Fighting” or “Martial Arts by Numbers” that allows pre-emptive attack - a much faster system than the conventional “Reactionary Response” to attack.

2. Development and pioneered Martial Science - a system which enables practitioner of all styles to evaluate and modify current technologies to improve efficiency and allow comparisons with proof of technologies, concepts and technologies.

3. Developed the following technologies -

a. Sightless combat b. Smart weapons systems c. Stealth weapons systems d. Fire-and-forget systems e. Broken rhythm energy f. Plyometrics applications g. U.F.O. motions h. Counter error programs i. Convert errors into attack j. Selective automatic targetting

The Three Cs - Capability - Control - Confidence

Certainty in containing the opponent by a huge technological edge and a super tough body and mind.

1. Capabilities - Current martial arts technologies have been transcended by total control in that it is a martial science based on failproof concepts.

2. Control - Allows total control of the opponents capabilities making him defensively impotent. Multi functional applications in everyday life as well as in self defense.

3. Confidence - The small, the unco-ordinated, the disabled and also the best and brightest will gain in self belief through this training.

Martialarm Martial Science Offers

Attack systems that cant be blocked. A shield that cant be breached. Body toughening, Formula fighting, Stealth and U.F.O weapons including the Nukes. Mind freeze technology that shuts the opponent down. 3Cs Capabilities and Control bring about Confidence.

Martialarm Martial Science Concepts

1. Traditional Martial Arts - Animal styles or based on kata and ritualised. 2. Acclectic Martial Arts - Collection of what works for the individual into a new style. 3. Designer Martial Arts - Only the usable of conscious mind, scientific and repeatable.

Acne

Acne

Understanding acne and the different types of acne people suffer from can help in determining what methods of acne control should be attempted without worsening the condition or possibly causing permanent damage to the skin. The medical community has had no luck in pinpointing the exact cause of acne and a single effective method for acne control, but the source of acne has been discovered to be the sebaceous glands. The sebaceous glands release an oil that turns into a firm white matter known as sebum. This sebum moves to the entrance of the hair follicles and bursts through the surface of the skin. Acne and blackheads are often the result of sebum on the skin.

Acne can be severe or mild and often require very different methods of acne control. The less severe form of acne is known as non-inflammatory acne where an individual experiences an occasional pimple or blackhead without excessive breakouts. Inflammatory acne affects almost everyone at some point, usually during his or her teen years. The only time non-inflammatory acne can be bothersome is if a person squeezes and picks at his or her acne, which could lead to infection and possible scarring.

A more severe and often unsightly form of acne is inflammatory acne. Inflammatory acne can make an individual quite self-conscious and always looking for the latest form of acne control. Inflammatory acne is characterized by plenty of pimples and pocks on the face as well as other parts of the body including the back, neck, chest and even groin. This type of acne can be quite uncomfortable and ultimately cause scarring. When all types of over the counter acne control products have been tried, most people with inflammatory acne must use prescription medication and even surgery in order to obtain acne control.

Anyone who suffers from acne can do try a number of different ways to control acne and prevent it from returning. Although a connection between diet and acne has not been able to be established, some people have had success in acne control by changing their diet. Buy reducing the amount of fatty foods and sugar that is consumed, acne may thin out. The introduction of natural fruits and vegetables as well as whole grains into a person’s daily diet can aid in acne control as well as assist in the healing of skin tissue that has been damaged by acne.

In addition to changing the kind of food that is consumed to try and control acne, the introduction of specific vitamins can also help in improving the skin’s condition. Adding Zinc, Vitamin C, Vitamin A, Vitamin B with extra B6 and Vitamin E have been shown to help with acne conditions. Certain herbs in tea have been used in attempts to control acne like Echinacea, Dandelion Root, Nettles and Burdock.

Certain person hygiene behaviors can contribute to how severe acne can become and the kind of damage that can occur. In order to control existing acne, avoid touching the skin where the acne is as hands can transfer additional oil on to the face and make the condition worse. Hair can cause additional sweat and oils to be released on to the face so pulling hair off of the face can help to avoid worsening any acne condition. Do not use soaps or lotions that have any kind of oil base. Water-based creams and make up are often gentle enough for skin with acne.

Treating acne will most likely never eliminate the condition. Treatment is only successful when trying to control acne. If acne begins to clear with a particular treatment, it is important to continue with that treatment because the acne will return without the treatment. If all personalized attempts to control acne fail, a dermatologist is likely to be able to offer a number of treatment options with some success.

Why Orienteering is Hot!

Saturday, November 22nd, 2008

So, you didn’t know it was hot did you? Do you even know what Orienteering is? It is one of the most thrilling activities available for outdoor enthusiasts of all ages and here’s the good news - it’s inexpensive. If you enjoy spending time out of doors and you are looking to break out of your regular routine, Orienteering may be the challenge you’ve been hoping for. Thousands of men, women and children around the country are addicted to the mental and physical rush of Orienteering. Let’s find out why.

First off, what is Orienteering? Orienteering is an outdoor sport where you use a map and a compass to find your way through a cross-country style course either leisurely or competitively. Here’s basically how it works: By using only a compass and a map, participants will move from one control point to another until reaching the end of the course. Each participant - an orienteer - uses a special device, a unique one is located at each control point, to mark their scorecard thus proving they have actually visited the required control points. The orienteer who reaches the finish line first, with all control points visited, is the winner. Sounds easy doesn’t it? So what’s the catch?

There are two main challenges to the sport. First, the route is not marked. Therefore the orienteer must personally navigate from control point to control point using only a compass and a map. To successfully do this, you will always need to know how far you have traveled and in what direction. Their map, provided at the event, gives detailed information on the terrain such as hills, landmarks, bodies of water and other obstacles. Secondly, to be successful in orienteering, the orienteer needs excellent map reading skills, the ability to focus mentally and the ability to make decisions. If the event is competitive, all of this is done as fast as possible.

The most popular type of Orienteering is Foot Orienteering - abbreviated as Foot-O - and it is an Olympic sport. World-class Foot-O athletes typically have endurance and strength characteristics similar to marathon runners. Other Orienteering types include Mountain Bike, Skiing, Trail, and Night Orienteering. To find out more information on Orienteering in your city, contact the United States Orienteering Federation or visit our online Education Center. Competitive orienteering has been called the “thinking sport” and has been likened to “running while playing chess.”

With Orienteering, you’ll improve your problem solving skills, your decision making skills and you will push yourself to new levels of accomplishment. All while having a great time. While leisure Orienteering is not nearly as fast paced or as pressure-packed as competitive Orienteering, you’ll still get an adrenaline rush when you’ve successfully found your way through the course - and that’s why Orienteering is Hot! Use this information and you’ll Get It Right The First Time. Get Outdoors!

“The Importance of Treadmill Mats ?”

Saturday, November 22nd, 2008

One important accessory that you will want to get with your new treadmill is a good treadmill mat. If you are not sure of what a treadmill mat is, then let’s take a minute and examine this.

A treadmill is going to vibrate when in use and since it is sitting directly on your floor, there will be loud noises and constant vibrations each time your treadmill is used if there are not proper mats under them.

These mats will maintain your floors and carpets, minimize vibrations, and reduce the annoying noises that may come from using your treadmill. More times than not these mates are made out of some sort of rubber or cellular vinyl type of byproduct.

A treadmill mat of good quality can deliver many benefits to your treadmill and your floor. The first is that it does protect your flooring and carpet.

As expensive or inexpensive as your treadmill may have been, chances are that your hardwood floor or carpet under the treadmill will cost three or four times than your treadmill to replace if damaged.

These mats also aid in reducing the numbers of dust and carpet fibers in the air. Without the mat, the vibrations discharged by the treadmill will dislodge any loose fibers in the carper, which include the dust that might be tucked away within the carpet.

One of the biggest benefits from using these mats is that it has the potential to prolong the life of your treadmill by dampening the vibrations that are emitted from the usage of the treadmill.

The vibrations caused from your treadmill can possibly make your treadmill work harder and cause a shaking to it that will gradually over time reduce the shelf life of your machine. They are very effective at reducing the amount of noise that is created when your treadmill is on.

If you have ever heard a treadmill without a mat under it, it might sound kind of like an airplane taking off, it is that loud.

Treadmill mats are relatively inexpensive for the amount of headache and money that can be saved in the long term from them. The prices of these mats is somewhere between $25 and $50 depending on what type you decide that you are going to purchase.

This is a small amount to considering the total amount that could be saved in the long term from not protecting your machine and having to purchase another. =========================================================== Find out why treadmills can burn fat more efficiently than almost any other exercise. Another web site advantage is that it’s available even when your business is closed or no one is available to answer your phone. You can encourage callers who’ve missed you to visit your web site for more information while they wait for your return call.

3. Easy to update
Printed material, while still very necessary, can be expensive and troublesome to keep updated. With a web site you can easily let the public know of changes to your hours of operation, product or service offerings, business address or phone number, staff, etc.

4. Adds credibility
One of the best benefits of a having a web site: a well-thought-out, professionally designed web site can add credibility to your small businessno matter how young or small your business is. A web site can also convey a sense of stabilityespecially important if your small business operates without a storefront; potential customers will feel reassured that they could contact you if they lost your information.

5. Great word-of-mouth marketing
Another great reason for a web site (that is often overlooked!) is that’s it’s easy for someone to share your web site address with a friend in an email, a phone conversation or a meeting where none of your brochures or business cards are available.

6. Adds value
Your web site can become a valuable resource to potential and current customers. Post information on how to care for products you sell, referrals to related services, interesting facts, how-to’s, tips, trends, mistakes to avoid or a glossary of industry terms.

7. Stay ahead of or keep up with competition
People use the internet to research everything from furniture to limousine service to preschools. If your competitor has a web site listed in their print ad and you don’t, those online savvy people may check out your competitor’s offerings first. That’s especially true if you advertise in online “Yellow-Page”-style directories and don’t have a web site. Hello! Your target customer is already online! If your competitor is just a click away, who do you think will get the first opportunity to serve that customer?
